Reference audio, stems and truth

What a rehearsal mixer can—and cannot—do.

Start with authorized audio

Use a recording or backing track you own or are authorized to practice with. The existing Band Room local rehearsal mixer can decode available audio tracks, align playback, adjust pan and gain, mute or solo stems, and render a WAV mix.

It does not automatically generate isolated vocals, drums, bass or guitars from a single finished master. That requires source-separation technology, suitable compute and an explicit provider or model integration.

Work on the difficult measure

Identify the passage, loop a meaningful musical length, and reduce distraction. A drummer may mute a provided drum stem, bring the bass forward, or compare two mix snapshots. Tempo change and time-stretch artifacts are separate acceptance concerns.

If synchronization with video or printed notation is needed, verify precise timestamps, rights and the actual player behavior before publishing that claim.

Choose the right tool for the next step

Rhythm handles timing and subdivision practice; Studio handles creative recordings and sequences; Band Room organizes the rehearsal around an existing song and band; Academy connects exercise work to a learning objective.
